at XFM

At XFM, we’re committed to reducing our environmental footprint, making smarter choices across our operations and making transportation more sustainable.

Cleaner Equipment

Equipment

We’ve partnered with Toyota Material Handling to introduce battery electric counterbalance forklifts, delivering strong performance with zero operating emissions and helping us reduce our reliance on gas equipment.

Euro 6 Fleet Standards

Euro 6
Fleet Standards

We continue to invest in a cleaner, more sustainable fleet, with 84% of our company-owned vehicles now meeting Euro 6 emissions standards. By upgrading our fleet with lower-emission vehicles, we are reducing our environmental impact while continuing to deliver reliable freight solutions for our customers nationwide.

Smarter Trailer Efficiency

Smarter Trailer
Efficiency

As part of our ongoing investment in a cleaner, more efficient fleet, we continue to upgrade our trailer configurations to support better sustainability outcomes. Our 30′ trailers are purpose-built to maximise local delivery efficiency, allowing us to move more freight around town with fewer vehicles. This results in fewer trips, lower fuel consumption, and reduced emissions across our metropolitan network.

For long-haul operations, our B-triple combination trailers deliver the same advantages—moving significantly more freight on a single vehicle and reducing the number of trucks required on major routes. More freight on fewer vehicles means less fuel burned and a smaller environmental footprint across the country.

Sustainable premises

As we expand into new depots, sustainability is a core consideration in every move. Our Sydney depot, for example, is a 6-Star environmental facility, designed to minimise energy use, reduce emissions, and support smarter, more efficient green supply chain operations. These modern, environmentally focused facilities play a crucial role in lowering our footprint across the network.

We’re Here to Help

We continue to invest in equipment, technology, infrastructure, and partnerships that help us operate more efficiently and responsibly – supporting a cleaner future for our customers, our communities, and our industry.

The Euro 6 Standard is the most stringent emissions standard test to reduce harmful pollutants from vehicle exhausts. Developed by the European Union, it was introduced in 2015 to focus on lowering nitrogen oxide (NOx) levels and other pollutants to help the environment and public health. For XFM this means we can continue to operate in an environment for sustainable logistics operations and commit to a greener future for our industry.

Environmental rating systems are a star based rating system designed to assess the operational performance of businesses and their premises. With 1 star being the lowest rating and 6 star being the highest, the XFM Sydney depot rates as top standard for environmental rating.

Could I get some guidance for an answer to this question please. Some numbers around how many sustainable vehicles are used may be helpful here as a proof point, otherwise happy to pivot and find a different question to answer.
